Out of all the statements he has made or things he has done so far, we must applaud Prime Minister Marape for this bold stand. This is what real leadership really is. I do not care whatever people think or say. It doesn't even matter whatever it may cost. Papua New Guinea must remain one united and independent country. The borders since the day we got Independence 50 years ago is the border that must stand forever. We can never break this country up at all.

Bougainville can have everything. They can have full control of their island and resources. They can have all the money their island generates. Even they can have their own government to run their island. BUT THEY MUST NOT BE GIVEN INDEPENDENCE AT ALL..PERIOD!! THEY SHALL REMAIN PART OF A UNITED AND INDEPENDENT PAPUA NEW GUINEA.

As soon as Bougainville is given Independence, more provinces or regions will be asking for Autonomy. New Guinea Islands have already asked for this. Even Papua has been asking for this. After Autonomy, they will ask for Independence. And then PNG will cease to exit. We just cannot allow that to happen. NEVER!

I do have a lot of Bougainvillean friends. They are very good people. Very hard working and innovative people. But l am a very proud Papua New Guinean. We do have issues in the country. But we can always work together and rectify these issues. We all want to see a better country to live in.

Breaking up PNG is not the answer. We are one people, one country and one solwara. We must and we will remain one.

Once again, THANKYOU PM MARAPE. This bold decision may not be

a popular one but one that had to be made. This is REAL LEADERSHIP.
