Jeffrey Innes Resigns as Chairman of Ok Tedi Mining Limited

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – March 30, 2025: Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) has announced the voluntary resignation of its Chairman, Jeffrey Innes. The decision was confirmed by Dr. Ila Temu, OTML Board Director and Chairman of Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited (KMHL), the majority shareholder of OTML.


Mr. Innes, who has been instrumental in guiding OTML through a significant period of business restoration and restructuring, steps down after a tenure marked by strategic leadership and resilience. Dr. Temu acknowledged Mr. Innes’s contributions, stating, “Jeffrey Innes has played a pivotal role in steering OTML through challenging times, ensuring the company’s stability and growth. We thank him for his dedication and service.”

Dr. Ila Temu will assume the role of Acting Chairman while the OTML Board initiates the process of appointing a permanent replacement.


OTML operates the Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea’s Western Province, producing copper, gold, and silver. The company is a cornerstone of Papua New Guinea’s economy, contributing billions in taxes, royalties, and dividends, while also supporting community development through scholarships, infrastructure projects, and employment opportunities.
